If I can be outside, I am! I am always telling my hubby that I was born in the wrong country because I love the heat so much. This summer I built an outdoor firepit that is gorgeous but we had nowhere to sit to enjoy it. Which lead me to figure out how to…
Tammy Builds blog is where you will find DIY home projects and ideas.
This blog shares tutorials as she walks through the steps that she uses to build and create her own projects for her home.
Tammy loves the modern country feel but certainly appreciates all styles of homes and the ideas that others have.
The focus of this blog is to inspire others.
A note from Tammy:
My dad is my inspiration. I have always said that I want to be just like him when I grow up. His dad passed away when he was 8 years old of Pleurisy and it always amazed me the kind of dad that he works hard to be despite not growing up with one himself.
He is a farmer and a carpenter and so hard work is a given. I would do anything to go outside just to be with him and he wasn’t afraid to let me learn. He would hand me nails and hammer and an old piece of wood and I would sit and imagine my creations while watching him work.
It felt like he could problem solve anything. If it didn’t work he would grunt, stare at it for a few moments and start a new plan. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t and the greatest lesson I will ever have learnt is being absolutely ok when it didn’t. Nothing phased him it seemed to me small eyes that watched in wonder and that stands true to this day.
He still comes when I need a hand, he still grunts/stands back and tries again and continues with the same positive attitude. And, I still stare in awe!
I can easily dedicate everything that I do in this blog to him!
Obviously, I am biased when it comes to my DIY projects and I am pretty sure I often say, "this one is my favorite!". That said, for the 1st phase of our basement remodel, I did this easy DIY board and batten staircase and all I can say is "WOW"! This one is my FAVORITE!…
I see so many posts online that are offering face mask patterns. That is awesome assuming you like to follow a pattern, have everything that the pattern calls for and the time to do it. Simply put... I like to create and problem solve. Here is how to make a face mask without a pattern!…
Roasting marshmallows, family time and warmth! To make that happen in our backyard I had to figure out how to build an outdoor fire pit. Here are the steps.
